I followed the instructions on Community message 3717, updated December 1, 2020, but the option listed in that response does not appear on my account. Can I still access the option? How?

The IRS Form 1040-X for amending a 2020 tax return is scheduled to be available on 03/25/2021 (subject to change)
I am amending a 2019 tax return. I'm assuming I have to do that in TurboTax 2019, but there is no option to amend using TurboTax online. Should I wait until 3/25/21? Can I amend the 2019 using TurboTax 2020?
Rather than doing it online, what must I submit if I print it out and send? I see the completed 1040-X in what I've done using TurboTax 2019. Do I also print out the entire tax return? I sure hope not 🙂
How do I amend my 2019 TurboTax Online return?
First, make sure you really need to amend and that your 2019 return was accepted in TurboTax Online or paper-filed through the mail. You can't amend a return that hasn't been filed yet.
Three weeks after mailing your amended return, you can start tracking it at the IRS Where's My Amended Return? tracking tool. Please allow at least 16 weeks for the IRS to process your amended return.
Processing times for amended state returns vary from state to state. If it's been more than 12 weeks since you mailed your amended state return, and you haven't heard anything, we suggest you contact your state tax agency.

If you want to go into the 2019 TurboTax software and amend your return, you can load your return and then select Amend or add the 1040X to the return.

A 2019 amended tax return can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed.
Only the Form 1040X and any forms or schedules changed by amending the return are mailed to the IRS.

The state amended tax return does not require that the federal amended return, Form 1040-X, to be included.
