So I filed over a month ago, owed money, and had to pay more than usual to file online since the Mac software you created this year is for a version too up to date for me to use (so I had to pay separately for the state filing, which is normally included for free). And today you're sending me an email telling me to log in so I can get my maximum refund?
If your people aren't smart enough to figure out not to send emails about filing to people who have ALREADY FILED WITH YOU, then perhaps I should go elsewhere next year. Now I've unsubscribed from everything because you can't just run a filter before hitting everybody's inboxes. Ridiculous.
Do you have an unfiled state tax return, or perhaps a second TT account?
The email was sent because there were changes made to the unemployment income you may have received. If you had filed early before the changes were made, you may be due an additional refund. But you do not need to do anything if you already filed. Originally, it was believed that you would need to amend to recoup the excess taxes paid, but that has changed. If you filed and paid taxes on unemployment, you do not need to amend. The IRS will start sending out these additional refunds in May, see more here.
You can update your marketing preferences in your Intuit account, but this will not eliminate all emails.
