Where to find 760PY INC info? It's asking me for TP State Refund.

If you filed a part-year Virginia return for 2022 then just log in to your TurboTax account and click on "Print or Download My Returns" and you can save a copy to your computer.  You'll be able to find your refund amount in there.

I have not yet filed either my federal or state returns and am getting the question above.  When I enter last year's state refund (found in last year's TT return), TT tells me the amount should not be greater than the total amount reported on the Federal Return.  How do I find the amount that Turbo Tax has as the "total amount reported on the Federal Return?"

You'll need info on last year’s AGI for accessing a prior year return.

If you transferred last year’s tax data to this year's return, your state and local refunds are automatically brought over with your other tax info.

Alternatively, your state/locality may have sent you a 1099-G form (if they haven’t gone paperless). You should receive your 1099-G by mid-February if your state/locality still sends out paper forms. If you did get a 1099-G, make sure it's for a state/local tax refund, not unemployment compensation.

Here are some other places you might find the amount of last year’s state/local refund:

  • Last year's state tax return
  • Your bank statement showing your entire state/locality refund
  • Your state tax agency (for state refunds) or municipality (for local refunds)

I tried entering what was reported last year on my federal return and what was reported to me by the state of Virginia and in each case, I got a notification from TurboTax that the number I entered exceeded what was reported on my Federal return.  I have not been able to find the number "reported on this year's draft federal return," which I imagine is what's meant by the program.  That said, I finally entered "0.00" and that took!  So maybe it means "taxable" refund, but it did not say that.  Wish it was clearer or that it could pull the "not to exceed number" calculated from the imported data from last year...  :(
