Where it says a $ amount above "Federal Refund" (in pogress), if that number is positive does that mean I will receive that amount? What if the $ amount is negative?

I am confused, does a positive number above Federal Refund mean I owe money or that I will receive that much back as a refund? And what about a negative number, is that an amount I will owe or receive? Thanks!

If the number is GREEN you get a refund.  If the number is RED you owe taxes.

Pretty sure he/she is talking about on the IRS website and his/her personal account. Nothing to do with the turbo tax red or green account.

Where are you seeing the number?   What screen are you looking at?    No numbers are final on your tax return until you submit it for filing.   The refund meter at the top of the screen will change as you make changes to your return, but it is meaningless until you are done entering all of your information.    The refund meter will never be a negative number.   If you are in a refund state, it will say Federal Refund amount and if you owe tax and are not getting a refund, the meter will say Federal Tax Due amount.

When in doubt ... read the words ... tax due means you owe and refund means you get money back.
