Do you want to see the current 1040 or a prior year?  You have to start a 2022 return and continue entering some personal info for the menus to show up on the left side.  So keep going.

You can view your Form 1040 at any time using the online editions. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.

Maybe I am dumb, but I don't know the root page you're referring to. The two pages I have been able to access wrt TurboTax generally are below. There is practically nowhere to even navigate to on either website.

Looks like you have not started the 2022 tax return using the online editions.  Until you have started the 2022 return the Form 1040 and the menu with the various links will not be available on the left side of the online program screen.

That is helpful to know. The design of this is also painfully bad though. Access to my documents from previous years shouldn't be obscured.

Obviously not upset with you or anything, but if you work with Intuit/TurboTax then know my feedback is that users should be able to access their documents with a few clicks after logging into their account. I am not trying to file my taxes right now. I won't be for more than a month I am sure, viewing previous years documents has other purposes for me, and I just don't understand why it makes sense to obscure that information.

You should always save the pdf file (and .tax file) to your computer each year after you file so you have a copy whenever you need it.  You can't rely on always getting a copy from Turbo Tax.
