When you amend your return will your funds come by your original account you used when you filed or does a check come by mail

Turbotax allows for providing direct deposit info. if you filled it in you should get it via direct deposit. However, there have been some threads where taxpayers report receiving the refund by mail even though direct deposit was requested. 

Direct deposit of 1040-X refund is a  recently new feature. If you don't employ  it correctly, you will get a paper check mailed to you.
