When using Mac to amend my 2016 and 2017 tax returns, i am not able to download the pfd versions of those tax returns in the software dowloaded. Any suggestion?

Do you mean to open it in the program?  You need the tax data files ending in .tax2016 and .tax2017 to open in the software to amend.
