When trying to print Illinois state return I get error -your Illinois return is currently unavailable to view, print or download.

Using TT Premier, desktop running Windows 7. Product is up to date. TT availability table says Illinois forms are available.

IF you are using the Desktop software:

If you are comfortable with deleting files, you can try this:

____________________________

Delete the three files   ilif01.1pe, ilif02.1pe and il_ind_schsa.pdf  all dated 12/10/18.

  location was C:\Program Files (x86)\TurboTax\Premier 2018\Forms\ili_18 for the first two files,

….and C:\Program Files (x86)\TurboTax\Premier 2018\Forms\ili_18\fpspdfs for the pdf

(the "Premier 2018" subdirectory will be Deluxe or Home & Business if your version is one of the other ones)

But a few say it didn't. They had to Uninstall TTX before removing the files...with updated directions below.

I attempted the resolution ( fixit tool TTClean States.exe.zip) and followed the steps.  This did not resolve the issue for me.  I am using TurboTax Home and Business 2018 (desktop).  After running the tool and checking for updates, TurboTax did not indicate that any updates were found or applied.  It displayed a message that the software was up-to-date.  Any idea as to why the fix did not resolve the issue?

@jak3440 ...not really.

Look for and try deleting the files I've noted in the answer below.

I tried to delete the 3 files that were noted, and this did resolv the issue.
I now see the Illinois forms completed, and I can now save or print them off to send to my state.
Thank you very much!

This solution worked for me.  Perhaps TurboTax should combine all of the state 'fixes' into one cohesive document and notify all users, instead of having to search through multiple questions/solutions.

The download worked for me. It doesn't look like it's doing anything when you run the Fix but 2 other files will appear in the folder, I guess meaning it's done.

Just remember to Update Turbo Tax when you open it because it didn't automatically give me the prompt. It had an Illinois update and then I could print/save the file.

And yes, Turbo Tax should send out an update to make these fixes because the program should work even if it is a State return.

@N ick Name

IF your Illinois file was supposed to be  your Free one

1) Exit the file and back to the starting home screen
2)  Run the software Update again from the menu again
3)  Start a  NEW tax return as a dummy-file.  Put in enough Personal info to indicate your resident state (IL)....then go to the state section and see if you can download IL as the free state.
4) IF #3 works....Then Save-AS something like "Dummy-ILL"  so you don't overwrite your real file. then go back to your real tax file.

I created a new dummy return..  when downloading updates, it says it all updates are complete. But still no IL state forms/. when trying to download IL forms, I have to pay.

OF course..if you bought Deluxe desktop....and bought the Deluxe version that does NOT include the Free state (or "Basic") then there is no free state download.  When buying Deluxe...never buy the cheapest version.....there is one without a free state.
