When should you receive a 1099? Isn't it 31 jan. i received mine on 6 Mar, now I have to file an amendment because i filed my taxes in february.

now i am facing fines and pens because i was told i was not going to get a 1099. will i have to give back the refund i received?  The 1099 is from an insurance company.

What kind of 1099?  If it is for self employment independent contractor income you needed to report all your income whether or not you got the 1099.  You should be keeping your own records of your income.

The 1099 is from an insurance company, and I told by a supervisor that no 1099 was in their system for me. then I received one on 6 March.  I should not have to pay because they sent it out late,
