When it asks for my SS income do I put gross or net after deductions?

I entered gross SS income but at end it shows only my Interest and IRA distribution for income.

Where did you enter your SSA1099?

Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security  (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.

Forms SSA-1099 report retirement, disability, and survivor benefits from the Social Security Administration (SSA).

Don't confuse the SSA-1099 with the 1099-R that reports retirement benefits from non-SSA sources like pensions, 401(k)s, and IRAs. 1099-Rs are entered elsewhere in TurboTax.

All SSA-1099 forms get entered in the same place.  Open or continue your return.

  • Navigate to the Social Security benefits section:
    • TurboTax Online/Mobile: Go to Social Security benefits.
    • TurboTax Desktop: Search for Social Security benefits and then select the Jump to link.
