When I filed for the federal income tax part of tax return it calculated that I would receive $318, however it just showed that I was receiving $157 once I finish filing. Was that suppose to happen? I

It depends.

 

Did you make any other changes in your return before you filed?

 

Or did you elect to pay your TurboTax fees with your refund?  This could be another reason your refund amount decreased.
