When I enter a date in the software, I get the following response even though I am entering it correctly, "Please enter a valid date in the field above."

The date entered must be in a valid format, mm/dd/yyyy, such as 01/17/2020.  You have to enter 2020 not just 20.  Any date entered that is not in 2020 will be invalid.

Where on the program are you getting the invalid date?

No one can see your screen.  What are you entering a date for?  What are you trying to do?

Mostly in the charitable donations section but also in the acquisition of a computer for work.  It states I should enter it in the following format mm/dd/yyyy.  When I put in 04/10/2020 it states that it is an invalid date.

@arefkov90

...how is 1990 a valid year? Right now it's 2023

Certainly, some fields in the software might require 2022 since we're working on 2022 taxes, but that one is for right now.
