What if I forgot to attach my W-2 to my for 1040? I already sent it to the IRS?

Wait for the IRS to send you a letter asking for the W-2. Hold on to all the copies of the W-2 in case you need them. But it's possible that the IRS will not ask for it, so if you don't get a letter, don't worry about it.
