What if I accidentally claimed 1 allowance on one of my w4s but I can be claimed on someone else's taxes?

That doesn't matter. Allowances don't equate to claiming yourself (or not). They pretty much only impact how much taxes you had withheld. Whether you claimed Exempt, 1, 2, 3, or 8.... this doesn't jeopardize whether someone can claim you as a dependent on their tax return.

You aren't filing a tax return when you complete Form W4- you are just trying to guesstimate how much taxes to take out.

If you claimed 1 and still have a refund, there's nothing to even consider here. If you didn't hold enough, you may want to consider 0 going forward. Again, nothing to do with your tax return status as dependent or not...
