Tax Topic 152 means that the IRS needs additional time to process your return and issue a refund. This means there is a delay in your refund, but no reason you would not receive it. If you are receiving the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Child Tax Credit, the IRS expects the earliest refunds with these credits to be available in taxpayer bank accounts or on debit cards starting on Feb. 27, 2019, if you chose direct deposit and there are no other issues with the tax return.
But what if I have no credits in my return a basic simple single person tax return that is the exact same every year?
That’s not true bro you will get your tax money before the 27th if everything goes right with your return.
That's actually not right... All tax topic 152 is just to explain about Refund Timing, nothing more, nothing less... Please don't give answers that aren't from the actual IRS website
This is taken straight from the link provided. So it was incorrect info originally posted (I assume because it’s from last year).

But is this meaning approved and now just have to wait for the money.?
No. It means the IRS is explaining Refund Timing. It will usually take up to 21 days from the date of acceptance, to receive your return. This page can provide answers about the timing of your refund (if any) once your tax return has been received.
I have it too. Does it mean that we won't be receiving refund. Efiled and accepted on Jan 31st. When can we expect it too be approved
Tax Topic 152 does not mean that you have made a mistake on your taxes. It's just a general message, making you aware that your return could take longer. You can use the link provided below to check out some of the common issues which may extend processing times:
So does this mean that we do not worry?? I mean when did they start this topic 152 ? I never got this before. Is there an issue? Should I worry?
@hapjak3232 No need to worry, being flagged for Topic 152 does not mean you did anything wrong. It just means the IRS needs to take a closer look at things for you. Below is an excerpt from the IRS website regarding Topic No.152.
"The IRS expects the earliest Earned Income Tax Credit and Additional Child Tax Credit related refunds to be available in taxpayer bank accounts or on debit cards the first week of March if they chose direct deposit and there are no other issues with their tax return. Taxpayers should check Where's My Refund? for their personalized refund date."

Topic 152 is just a computer generated message on Refund Timing, it literally has nothing to do with being approved or audited or anything good or bad. It simply and explanation of how refund timing works. That's it.
That's not true. Tax topic 152 is just a computer generated message on Refund Timing. It does not have anything to do with them needing more time. It's simply an explanation of how long it could take to process a refund. Does anybody do research before answering these questions? Jeez.

But I did not have any child tax credits or earned income credit. So should I still not worry???
@hapjak3232 Tax Topic 152 means that the IRS needs additional time to process your return and issue a refund.

If I purchased the audit defense and the IRS needs additional information from me do I need to co tact turbo tax? It had been 22 days and no refund. Just a message 152?
Taz returns should be available for info by tomorrow and it should say what day it gets deposited in your bank if everything is smooth
I talked to a person at IRS and they said they did not receive my return until 2/5/2020. According to turbo tax it said accepted on 1/31/2020. So according g to IRS they are still within the 21 day period and my return is still being processed. My question is why do the IRS not receive my return until 2/5/20 if it said it was accepted on 1/31/20?
