If the deposit is rejected by the bank then the IRS converts the payment to a check mailed to the address on the return which can take 3 weeks or longer. Updating the bank info in the advance CTC payment area will most likely NOT be used to try another DD but it could be possible but since this has never happened before there is no history to refer to.
