TurboTax wants me to import now, but where do I find the document ID?

I received an email from intuit saying my docs are ready for import, and to do so today:

"TD Ameritrade tax forms are ready.

Import now

Your form(s) are ready to go. Last year you filed:

1099-INT Interest income

1099-DIV Dividends, capital gains and distributions

1099-B Sales, barters and redemptions of securities

Import, upload or enter your tax forms today. Save time with our automated options and ensure nothing is missed out."

When I try to import, it asks for account number and document ID.  Where do I find the document ID without having the physical document?  If turbotax is telling me it's ready to import and to do it today, are they going to give me a document ID somewhere?  I don't see a place to get it from intuit,

You can try the following to find your document ID:

  • Go online and log into your account.  Review your brokerage report.  Your account number and document numbers are shown at the top.
  • Try downloading your consolidated statement.  Your Document ID is at the top of the first page.

I can't, it's Ameritrade and after becoming Schwab I can't log in to Ameritrade anymore.  I spoke to Schwab already and they told me there would be a separate Ameritrade 1099 set coming.

I got ahold of turbotax support yesterday, they confirmed the email I got was misleading.  I can't import the Ameritrade information 'today' because I don't have the document ID from a printed copy yet.

Ameritrade should be sending a separate 1099-B as the person at Schwab said.  It should have been here by now.  You may have to contact Ameritrade to confirm they have sent it out.
