TurboTax extension website filed balance due instead of refund due!

I'm sure quite a few people accuse TurboTax of making a mistake on a form, and I'm also pretty sure 99.9% of the time it's user error.  Please slow down and take a minute to really look at this post, because this is not one of them.  TurboTax's online extension webiste really calculated Part I Line 6 backwards on my extension!

I just eFiled Form 4868 (extension) at https://turbotax.intuit.com/irs-tax-extensions/

I entered an estimate of total tax liability for 2021 of $12,100, and total 2021 payments of $14,283. The TurboTax website told me good news, that I was expecting a refund of $2,183. It then asked, without showing me the form itself, if I wanted to eFile. I of course submitted it, because all seemed well. At the end, it asked me if I wanted to download my eFiled Form 4868. I did, and I see TurboTax did the subtraction backwards!

Line 6 says "Subtract line 5 from line 4." That means $12,100 - $14,283. Per the instructions, "If line 5 is more than line 4, enter -0-." Instead of following the instructions and entering 0, they subtracted it backwards and did $14,283 - $12,100.

I'm expecting to have a $2,183 refund. Not a $2,183 balance due.

Did TurboTax just file a ton of extensions wrong for people, stating balances due for people expecting refunds, and maybe $0 due for people expecting to owe money?  I think a lot of people don't download the form after, most who do probably don't open it, and most who do probably don't catch the mistake.

It looks like a bug to me.

several filers have pointed this out.

IRS computers know  your "amount paid with request for extension".

IRS computers will adjust accordingly.

If you have already filed for the extension, you would make payments to the IRS via their payment site.
