Turbo tax won't accept my banking information when trying to efile an amended return?

One thing you can't change on an amendment is your bank information. If you look at the form, it is not even reported on the 1040X. They use the information from your original return.

I haven't changed the banking information but TurboTax won't let me get beyond my banking information for my NC State return

What is the error message that you are receiving?

Also, it's always a good idea to clear your cache and cookies if the program isn't performing properly.

No error messages.

I also cleared cache and deleted cookies.

Still the same problem.

You can try these steps to resolve if you are using the online version:

• Using a different browser
• Opening an Incognito Window

I am using the desktop version.

Ok, are you attempting to type in banking information?  Since this is the amended return you should not enter anything in the banking information section and just bypass to get to the final return.

I did not try to change the banking information. When I got to that page I just selected continue and all it did was reopen that page.

So I called the 800 number.  Instead of eFiling with direct debit I ended up choosing pay directly which enabled me to complete my amended taxes.
