Turbo tax payment using federal refund

I filed on 4 April 21.  As of today, I still have not received my refund.  I opted to use turbotax and pay for the service using said refund.

I receive this today from intuit:

When you filed your 2020 tax return, you chose to use the Refund Processing Service provided by our banking partner. This means that you chose to pay for your TurboTax services (listed below) by deducting them from your expected federal tax refund.

However, at this time our records indicate that the IRS has either reduced or has not issued your 2020 federal tax refund, so there is an outstanding balance for your TurboTax services.

This is bad business by Intuit.  I'll pay my fee, but it will be the last time I use TurboTax.  I've been a customer for over 10 years.

Did you not notice that you agreed to that fee deduction if your refund took too long?   You can ask TT to defer the auto debit--at least for awhile.

Did you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund?  Is your refund taking an unusually long time to arrive?  Or was your refund seized to pay a debt you owed? if so, you signed an agreement that says TT can withdraw its fees from your account.  TurboTax would have sent several emails to you before they took the money out of your account.

I chose to have the payment to Intuit deducted from my federal return like I have for the last 10 years.  My federal return was accepted on 28 APR 2021 and as of now, I still do not have my refund.  I owe no money and nothing was seized to pay an outstanding debt.  However,  Intuit wants payment.

I'll say it again.  Intuit will receive the money I owe and it will be the last time I utilize TurboTax.  It's bad business and I will seek other avenues in the future.
