Turbo Tax has entered the wrong state for the Payer on my 1099-INT Worksheet. It wants me to fix the zip code, but this is correct. How do I change the state?

The form was entered by photo. The payer TIN is correct. Turbo Tax has changed the state in the payer's address to my state.

Delete the 1099-INT that was entered from the photo, then re-enter it manually. That will be much faster and easier than trying to fix the bad input from the photo. It will only take a minute or two. You probably won't even have to enter the payer's address - just the payer's name and the amount of interest.

You can manually edit the 1099-INT.

Please follow these steps.

Under Federal

  1. Select Wages & Income or Income & Expenses
  2. Scroll to Investments and Savings1099-B, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, Crypto Gain/Loss Report
  3. Add Investments or Add/Edit
  4. Scroll down to the 1099-INT that you took the photo of
  5. Review
  6. Correct your 1099-INT
