TT/IRS/etc re refunds delays

OK.  I see everyone here talking about how TT screwed up, and that the IRS told you that.  I'm fascinated by that - not that I don't believe it, but because I can't get anyone at the IRS to give me anything other than a canned response about things taking longer.  One person at IRS told me there were no issues with my return, and my line 30 is empty, so i can not tell if there is a glitch in the programming.

Does ANYONE have accurate info?  I'm starting to see news articles that say that tax refunds are delayed...but that's it.  Would really appreciate some hard data if there is any so that I (and others) can figure out what to do.

Thanks.

This has some figures in it:

The IRS is behind in processing nearly 7 million tax returns, an early warning sign the agency is un...

Another recent article said that the IRS still had to process 6.7 million 2019 returns left over from the COVID shutdown.  Basically, the Congress keeps throwing more tasks at the IRS but no more funding to do them.
