Trying to amend my return to switch from standard to itemized deductions, but I can't figure out how to change this in TurboTax's amend menu. Can anyone help?

It's very easy to see how to change $$ amounts of various things on the original return, or add credits or deductions, etc. But for the life of me I can't see how to change from standard to itemized deductions, which you'd think would be pretty simple.

Try doing a Search (upper right) for "itemized deductions, choosing" (lower case, without the double quotes), and jump to it. Here you can force it one way or the other.

Thanks. Unfortunately this isn't working for me. When I enter the search term and select "jump to itemized deductions, choosing", it just brings me links to more Q&As similar to this one; it doesn't bring me to any function where I can change the standard/itemize option on my amended return. Very frustrating that this seems near impossible to do when amending a return. Any other ideas, anyone?

Update -- I tried once more and this time it worked! You just have to be very careful to type it exactly as written, with the comma, and wait for the "jump to" link to come up. Thanks for the help.

I am glad you found it. Yep, that why I put the search string in quotes, so you will type it exactly as I wrote it...
