Third Stimulus - Adding direct deposit information to 2020 Return

I am one of the lucky few with still no information on when I will receive my third stimulus check, and yes I do qualify.  I filed my 2020 Return in February, but broke even, so no bank information was added (though they should have my bank info from previous returns.  My first stimulus was direct deposited, second one was mailed, not sure why.)   The IRS website now suggests going back and adding bank information through your tax software and that may get the 3rd stimulus to you faster.  I looked through the software and can't find how to do this.  Is there a way to do this without filing an amended return?   I'm scared to file an amended return and have that backfire and make things take even longer.

Sorry---there is not a way to add banking information to TurboTax for your stimulus check.   You enter banking information to your tax return in order to receive a refund as a direct deposit.   You cannot change it after you file.    TurboTax is not a portal to add banking information for the 3rd stimulus check.

Further---you do not add banking information to amended returns since the IRS only mails checks for amended returns--they do not make direct deposits.

You will have to deal with receiving a check for the 3rd stimulus when it is issued if the IRS does not have your banking information.

TurboTax cannot track your 3rd stimulus or tell you when it will arrive.  The IRS is issuing 3rd stimulus checks on its own timetable.

You can use the IRS Get My Payment site to see what is expected for your 3rd stimulus check:

Thank you for your reply.   I only inquired as to how to add it because IRS.gov says you can do this and they suggest it as a direct means to possibly get your stimulus check faster.  But thank you anyways.
