The state refund was less by the amount of the 2020 refund to be applied to the 2021 return.

The state refund deposited to my bank was less by exactly the amount of the 2020 refund amount which was to be applied by the state to the 2021 return. Should I simply contact the state directly or is there a feature in TurboTax Deluxe where TurboTax contacts the state?

You will need to contact your state Department of Revenue. Please see this Help Article for contact information.

Thank you. I had the feeling I should call the state. The TurboTax Deluxe 2021 return was correct and showed correct amount on the return (the amount I had withheld on my 1099-R plus the 2020 refund amount to be credited to the 2021 return).

On a different issue, I started using TurboTax Deluxe beginning with my 2018 returns (Fed & State). It appears I entered the Basis information incorrectly on both my wife's traditional IRA and Roth IRA and mine. I haven't gone through all the returns yet but how do I correct the information on the TurboTax software? (FYI, I purchase TurboTax Deluxe each year from Sam's Club and install it on my laptop.)

The IRS wants correct forms. You can mail in the 8606 alone, full instructions in About Form 8606, Nondeductible IRAs - Internal Revenue Service. To complete the multiple years, use Prior Year Forms and Instructions.

If you are using the desktop version, you can go in to the Forms mode for those years to see what you have and what needs to be fixed.
