The refund irs status just tells me to check back mid feb because I claimed additional child tax credit, does this mean I’ve been approved?

My last status was only the refund had been accepted. But it no longer shows any of that...

No, it means you will have to check back mid-February to check the status of your refund which is when they start processing the refund affected by the Path Act.

"Taxpayers who claim the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit may experience a refund hold.  According to the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act, the IRS cannot issue these refunds before mid-February. The IRS expects the earliest EITC/ACTC related refunds to be available in taxpayer bank accounts or debit cards starting February 27, 2018, if these taxpayers chose direct deposit and there are no other issues with their tax return."

once approved you will see approved and the date to expect your refund but sounds like you could be in the group mentioned above so just check back mid-February. https://www.irs.gov/refunds

Thanks. IRS didn't mentioned on their website on the dates particularly where you mentioned "February 27th".
