The IRS sent me a letter requesting more documents within 20 days. That was over a month ago and I tried sending it but the letter was returned. What is going to happen?

The IRS sent me a letter asking for additional forms within 20 days. I saw it late but sent out the forms anyways. And then my letter was just sent back to me saying "IRS denied because of incorrect postage". No idea how that happened... But now its been well over a month since they requested the more information in the first place and well over 2 months since I filed my e-return. I'm going to go to post office and make sure the letter is mailed correctly but what is gonna happen? Should of they already started processing it without the additional information?

The irs wheres my refund just says proceessing which it has said that for months

Your return is probably on hold while the IRS waits for your additional forms.  I have never seen the IRS refuse to accept forms it requested due to the late response.  You should be fine.
