The bank account information I provided for my 2019 tax return is no longer valid. How will this effect any incoming COVID-19 stimulus check? Can I update the bank info?

Unfortunately, you cannot update your direct deposit information.  You will be issued a check when they cannot deposit the money in your bank account.

It won't fall into a void, the IRS will automatically switch you to a check.  It might take a longer to receive it.  Good luck, wishing you the best.

Understood. Thank you for the clarification.

Ihad a feeling this might be the scenario. As long as it doesn't fall into a void (the account in question was closed shortly after I received my tax refund), I should be fine.
