Tax Year Prior to 2020: Stimulus check #2 december 2020

So im wondering if ill be getting it direct deposited this time to my turbo card. Since last time i guess something happened and irs never got my direct deposit information which doesn't make sense cause it shows it on my tax forms when I print them out.

Ok a few things.

I didnt recieve a advance.

But I did have my services paid from my federal return back in Feb.

I was reading that that is the cause.

Im worried because I recently moved from the house I have on file with irs and if they dont send it to my card im going to have to wait 3 months to recieve it by claiming it on my taxes which I wont get anything back because I'm self employed or WAS and collected unemployment.

If Turbo tax didnt fix the problem and doesn't get put into my turbo card im pretty sure ill be jumping ship and doing taxes else where next year.

TurboTax has NO control over your stimulus check, nor can TT track it or tell you when you will receive it.  The IRS will use the same banking information for the 2nd stimulus that they used for the first one.  If that account (or card) is closed then the stimulus will go back to the IRS and they will mail you a check.

See this information from the IRS:

https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/treasury-and-irs-begin-delivering-second-round-of-economic-impact-payments-to-millions-of-americans

When you prepare your 2020 tax return you can change your address in My Info--but that will not go to the IRS until you file your tax return.  The IRS will not be accepting 2020 returns until the end of January.

To change your address now with the IRS  --- but this takes weeks --

Make sure the post office is forwarding your mail.

If there is some sort of mixup then do not file your 2020 return too soon--let the dust settle a little on the second stimulus and use the recovery rebate credit on your 2020 return:

The stimulus check is an advance on a credit you can receive on your 2020 tax return.  If something went wrong or you did not get the stimulus check this year, you can get it when you file your 2020 return in early 2021—if you are eligible. It will end up on line 30 of your 2020 Form 1040.

We file our taxes every year using turbo tax, if we get a refund its deposited on my card you have on file, we received the 1st stimulus back in March but not receive the 2nd stimulus in December, the news said it is do to H&R Block, and Intuit Turbo Tax, so the question is where is our stimulus.

Here are steps for you to learn more information about the Second Stimulus Check:

  1. Check the IRS Get My Payment tool. The tool should tell you where your stimulus payment was deposited or mailed. The IRS has indicated there’s nothing you can do to change where they send
    your payment.
  2. If your payment was delivered to a prepaid Turbo® Visa® Debit Card and you no longer have it, TurboTax will help you get a replacement card at no cost.
  3. If you paid for TurboTax with your refund last year, TurboTax has given the IRS your correct account information and they are working to send your payment within days.
  4. If you were entitled to a stimulus payment but did not receive one, and you didn’t pay for TurboTax with your refund last year, you may need to claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on your 2020 taxes to
    get your money.

Note that the IRS determines eligibility and issues all stimulus payments.
