I have had my taxes completed since Wednesday and already paid $277 in fees to Turbo Tax. I have never had this issue and the only thing I can think of is the fact IRS will not accept returns until Monday, the 23rd.
But, in the past, they would still transmit and be saved and sent automatically when filing date came.
Is anyone else getting this and do you agree they will likely be able to transmit come Monday?
I would have never paid so early had I known. Thank you!
Click on Review on the left side of the online program screen and see if there are forms or schedules listed from the federal tax return that are not yet available for filing.
Go to this TurboTax website for federal and state forms availability - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product=Turbotax_online&bu=cg
That was the initial hold up on the 18th, as there were some forms not available until the 19th. But at that point, I wasn't even able to e-file.
I filled out those forms on the 19th, then the 3rd and final step was available and that is when this next snafu started. I have chatted in with 'Tax Pro's three times, as well, but they never know. They just share my screen, spend 15-30 minutes and say try again another day.
Hmmm...Are you also filing a state tax return? If so, the state return may be causing the issue if there are forms and schedules that have not yet been finalized for that state.
That is a good call and I read a few articles in light of that from past years. The issue with that is if you have already paid, which I have, you cannot delete the state portion and just file the federal. If I had not paid, I could have tried to just filed federal and been good to go, from what I have gleaned. Another case of Turbo issuing some helpful alerts, rather than pushing hard to pay too soon. Thanks for the suggestion!
