tax refund

I filed my mom's 2020 taxes 4/7/2020 and still don't have her refund. I got a real person on the phone and they told me I had to file Form 56, so I did that.  I haven't heard anything and now I can't get any information on the Check my Refund page.   What can I do to find out why it's being held.  The refund is a whopping $228 and she passed away in March 2021.

Don’t be discouraged the IRS is backlogged and understaffed and people are still waiting for refunds they filed for last February.
You can no longer check the status of 2020 return since the IRS is now updating for 2021 tax season. So it’s not lost, it just takes months to

process mailed in information.
