Tax Refund Status

Turbotax Online shows that my 2021 federal return was filed and accepted on March 16th, 2022.   I received a letter dated March 31, 2022 from the IRS because I forgot to include an estimated tax payment I had made on my tax return.  They requested I mail in pages 1 and 2 of my tax return along with proof that I made the estimated tax payment.  On April 6th I mailed the IRS all of the requested information.

Meanwhile, the IRS refund status website does not the status of my refund, and I have not yet received the refund.  I tried calling the IRS but got a message saying to try calling back another day.

What should I do?

Keep waiting.    Anything you mail to the IRS takes a long time for them to process.  Mailed returns are taking six months to be processed for some people.   You had to mail information in-----they may not have even opened your envelope yet.   When they open it and enter the data into the system you will see something on the IRS refund site.

TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
