Stimulus package sent after deadline with wrong information

On IRS Form 1040, I accidentally checked the box saying I could be claimed as a dependent. I already sent it to IRS thru e-file. There is no place on Form 1040-X to “uncheck” that box in case I need to amend it. How can I do to correct this information.

I also send my e-file after deadline Wednesday noon. However, I received a confirmation email that IRS accepted. I'm  wondering if it will be still processed and then denied or if it will be automatically deleted because it was sent after the deadline. In such case I would not need to send the 1040x.

Amend your return by writing the reason for the amendment in the explanation area at the end of the form. You have to mail the amended return and it will take many months to process.  As an alternative you could wait and file for the stimulus on your 2020 tax return assuming you could not be claimed as a dependent then.
