Stimulus Check

I file my adult son's taxes using Turbotax. Last year he was receiving a refund so I plugged in his bank info. He got his refund, 1st and 2nd stimulus checks direct deposited. I just submitted his 2020 return, however since he will not owe money or get a refund for 2020, I did not enter any bank info on the return. ( I now realize I could/should have). Question:

1.  If the 3rd stimulus package is approved and money will go out to those who are eligible, will the IRS direct deposit for my son or will he have to go to the IRS site to enter bank info again since its not on the 2020 return? If the IRS uses his 2020 return for eligibility and it doesn't have bank info do they still have a record of that from 2019 or is that asking too much of them? Help on this appreciated.

It is hard to say for sure. However, if the IRS does not direct deposit the funds, they will typically mail a check to the address on the 2020 tax return.
