Stimulus check was deposited to closed account. IRS is resending it to the same closed account. How do I get my money???

I was told that if direct deposit was returned due to closed account, the IRS would send a paper check or debit card. Why are they retrying the closed account???

Unfortunately, only the IRS would be able to provide guidance regarding your stimulus payment deposit attempts. Please see the IRS Get My Payment website for more information regarding the third stimulus payment.
