Stimulus check received AFTER taxes (1040) were E-Filed

Hi! I E-Filed yesterday (01/28/2021) and had NOT received my stimulus check at that time.

In the TT program, I answered "No" where it asked me if the 2nd check had arrived.

Today, 20 minutes ago I received the deposit notification that I had received the 2nd stimulus check at 3:24 EST, 01/29/2021.

My E-File is still "pending".

So, what do I do?

I thought that 2020 1040 gave anyone who hadn't received the stimulus an equal credit against their taxes. Is that what happened?

Since I DID, in fact, receive the funds, do I need to amend if the IRS accepts my return? (I know that I just correct the 1040 if they reject the E-File).

You don't need to do anything. The IRS knows what payments they sent you, so they will adjust your tax return accordingly and reduce your refund if necessary.

You do get a credit against your 2020 income tax for any stimulus payments that you have not received that you were entitled to.
