status of my e file return 2019

I filed with your service on July 16th both federal  and state taxes. It shows the federal tax was accepted on the 20th when I reentered the online file and did the corrections. I have gone to the IRS website to see my account and it is still showing that my return had not been accepted. It has been more than 21 days which is the amount of time the IRS says it takes to accept an e file return. I am very concerned about this. Why is your website showing my return as accepted? I have to pay so I want to resolve this ASAP. I would appreciate your help to resolve this issue.

Respectfully,

Cheryl Young

If you OWE tax due, why are you looking for information on the IRS Where's My Refund site?  That site only shows information about returns when you are going to get a tax refund.  Nothing about a tax return with tax due is ever going to show up there.  You were supposed to pay your federal tax due by July 15, 2020, and are now subject to penalties and interest.  Pay the amount you owe, and expect a bill from the IRS for the interest.

If you have federal tax due you can pay by mailing your payment with the 1040V voucher, (which has the address printed on it, having the payment taken out of a designated bank account, or you can pay directly on the IRS website.

You must pay your state tax due using the state’s preferred method of receiving payment.  For most states that will be by making a payment to the state’s own tax website, or by mailing a check or money order.
