2022 VA Fiduciary return has been accepted and I have next step to Sign and date Form VA-8453F within 3 days of acceptance. When click "Continue", TurboTax prints out the same paperwork as prior to e-file, including Form 8453-FE (note the "E"). In TurboTax selecting "Forms" and select Form 8453F under Virginia Estate/Trust, VA-8453F is displayed. Selecting "Print", Form 8453F is auto-selected but the buttons "Save as PDF" or "Print Preview Copy" both generated error msg "Your tax return ( Virginia Estate/Trust ) cannot be converted to PDF format. The tax return is incomplete. Before we can create a PDF file, you must provide enough data for TurboTax to create a tax return with at least one form.)
Now that my VA Fiduciary return has been accepted, per TurboTax, why can the VA-Form 8453-F not be generated?
Are you certain that you have to print and mail this form?

Can you pull up that form in Forms Mode and print it from there?
I can pull form VA-8453F up, but receive the same msg so unable to print or sign.

This seems to be the most likely scenario -- not necessary to print Form VA-8453F within 3 days of acceptance. Mentioned in the link @Anonymous_ provided https://www.tax.virginia.gov/sites/default/files/inline-files/va8453f-2022.pdf states the form is to be signed but not mailed. The message in TurboTax Virginia state filing is likely a reminder to sign and date the form, which was done for the Federal return. Thank you!
I have the same problem - I have e-filed both Federal and Virginia. TT electronic filing instructions for Va requires Form 8453F Declaration for E-Filing be signed within 3 days of acceptance and to keep with the preparer's records (not to send to the State). I cannot print or save as PDF. I get error message "Your tax return cannot be converted to PDF. Before we can create a pdf file you must provide enough data for TT to create a tax return with at least one form." I have competed all the forms and e-filed already! No problem saving the return as PDF or printing. But VA 8453F is NOT in the return.
I can find a blank 8453F on Virginia site that I would have to fill out by hand - is that what I have to do?? This is definitely a bug in the software. I'm using TurboTax Business for MAC.
Yes, just print the Form 8453F, enter your information, and keep it in your files with the state return.
You can find it at Virginia's Tax Preparers & Payroll Providers page.
This is really just a formality, but for your peace of mind, it's probably worth doing.
To All - Since you cannot print or download Form VA-8453F from TurboTax, find it on the Virginia tax website. Download, print, complete the form and sign.
If you read the instructions on the form, you do NOT mail it to Virginia. But, it says you are required to fill it out, sign and keep with YOUR tax return records for 3 year.
I have run into the same issue. Return has been filed and accepted. TT Business shows the VA-8453F in the list of forms for the return, and using Forms view, I can see the form. But I get the same error message when I try to print it. Seems like a program error.
Since nothing has to be filed with the VA tax authorities, I did a search for "VA-8453F 2023" online and got the PDF copy from the Va. Department of Taxation, which I filled in by hand and signed for the file.
