I found a previous response on a similar question suggesting to download all worksheets and forms to look for additional information there, however this functionality seem to have been removed from the system as I'm not able to follow specified steps and options.
The direct debit will occur on or after the date you specified when you selected the direct debit option. If the amount owed has not been debited within 10 days after your return was accepted, there is a phone number in the article below which you can call to follow-up with the IRS.

Balance due returns are once again on the back burner while the understaffed overtasked IRS focuses on returns with refunds, putting out third stimulus checks, recomputing filed returns for late tax law changes AND still catching up on processing 2019 returns.
Last year direct debit requests were delayed for months so book the payment out of your account and eventually the payment will happen.
