Refund status is no longer showing the "approved" section.

My return was accepted on February 3rd.  After it was accepted, the refund status on the IRS site/app always said "accepted" followed by an "approved" section that I assumed would eventually be approved.  Well, about 5 days ago, the "approved" section no longer shows up on the status.  It only says "Your tax return is still being processed" and "A refund date will be provided when available" I'm worried.  Why is the "approved" section no longer showing up?  Help!

That is the general status for most filers at this time.

Some tax returns take longer to process than others for many reasons, including when a return:

  •     Includes errors
  •     Is incomplete
  •     Is affected by identity theft or fraud
  •     Includes a claim filed for an Earned Income Tax Credit or an Additional Child Tax Credit.
  •     Includes a Form 8379, Injured Spouse Allocation, which could take up to 14 weeks to process
  •     Needs further review in general

Also, the IRS will hold refunds for EITC and ACTC-related tax returns. The refunds for these Returns cannot be processed by the IRS until Feb. 15th. Even after this date it will take a few day for the IRS to process. Those refunds won't be disbursed until February, 27th.
