Received w2C with changes to boxes 3-6. turbo tax tells me it detects no difference between the original return and the ameded one and asks if I'm sure I need to amend?

If the new information does not affect my return, is it necessary to file the amendment?  I have already efiled my taxes and they have been accepted by the IRS.  I would need to print and mail the amended return.

The difference between the originally reported social security wages and the corrected wages is is approx $630 dollars less.  The SS taxes withheld is different by $40.01 less.  And the medicare taxes withheld is different by like $9.

While the changes to Boxes 3 through 6 are significant to the Social Security Administration, to which they are reported via Copy A, they will have no impact on your Form 1040 individual income tax return.

You have no need to amend your tax return based on these changes.

No, you don't need to amend.
