Received State of California refund check without legal amount printed

Received refund check in the amount of $1199.06. However, this was not printed with legal amount

If you received a paper check, it might be a scam. Call the CA tax bureau and ask them. An amount that high sounds wrong.

is this the amount you were supposed to get?   if yes, take it to your bank and ask if it can be deposited without legal amount printed.  if not do as SweetieJean suggests.  .
