Question about E-filing Joint Tax Return with Non-Resident Spouse with (IRC 6013(g)) Statement

Hi everyone,

We (a U.S. citizen and a non-resident alien for tax purposes who has an SSN and a W-2) filed our taxes jointly, and we indicated that we want to treat the non-resident spouse as a resident for tax purposes under IRC 6013 (g).

TurboTax generated a statement for this, but it only had one address on it (the one we currently live at) and we filed using the e-filing option.

We want to know whether the IRS accepts the TurboTax generated statement when we e-file.

Thank you very much for your time!

Yes.  The TurboTax statement only uses the primary address of the tax return, though, so if any IRS correspondence won't reach you at that address you should consider changing your address with the service.
