Please help me.

Hello, so today I received a call randomly from the IRS saying I should have a letter come on the 21st about verification or whatever (not sure) and they were telling me if it doesn’t come on February 21st, then it will come on March 1st. BUT, my 21 days are not up. I’m confused because on Monday, they told me to only call AFTER 21 days if I don’t receive my refund and plus a random phone call from the IRS stating I have a letter coming?? I’m on my 17th day and I filed on January 24th and got accepted on January 27th. I went on the “Where’s My Refund?” website and it doesn’t have anything with red flags or a message about a letter or anything of that nature. Also, I have the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).
I’m not sure what to do!

The IRS will never contact you by phone. If they do need anything they will always contact by mail using official documentation.

Please click here to learn more about how to know if it is the IRS calling.

If you do need to verify anything for the IRS by mail, please click here to see what things will actually look like and they will always have you complete things via the phone or their specific website found within the IRS site.
