Filed Fed/NJ on 2/20/2020 using Windows Premier Desktop. Feds accepted same day. NJ still pending. In the past 10+ years using TT, NJ accepts within 2 days. I called support and they told me to call NJ. I wanted to double check that a PENDING status ABSOLUTELY means that my return was sent to NJ and there's no glitch at Intuit and the return is still sitting with Intuit.
NJ tax site says wait 4 weeks after e-filing before making an inquiry.
So, I just got a reject e-mail due to missing data on Line 39 of the NJ return. Line 39 actually has 4 parts: a,b, c, and d. D was not filled in. NJ description of line d says: "Fill in only one oval to indicate whether you were a homeowner, a tenant, or both a homeowner and tenant during 2020."
This is mandatory. I would FULLY expect Turbo Tax to catch this problem BEFORE it submits. I went back to the interview and answered the question (which I believe I had done previously).
Hope this help someone out there with the NJ form who is also waiting that could have this "glitch."
