"Pay 2023 Income Tax" before April.15.2024 in 4 payments

Hello,

I have higher tax payment due to some Retirement (post-60) withdrawal.

I submitted online Federal/State taxes using TurboTax few days ago, without payment by selecting mailing check and 1040 is accepted.

I opened my IRS account (https://sa.www4.irs.gov/ola/).

Can I use "Pay 2023 Income Tax" before April.15.2024   4 times (4 payments through Pay by Bank Account) to pay off, because balance is high?

Do IRS charge underpayment penalty for the retirement withdrawal in 2023, even though payment made before April.15.2024? TurboTax didn't indicated underpayment penalty during online filing.

Below is probably because my 1040 is not processed yet.

Pay Balance in Full - Unavailable at this time.

Pay Towards Your Balance - 2023 Income Tax - Balance Unavailable

Thanks and Regards,

PP

You can make as many payments on the IRS website as you want.

If Turbotax did not calculate a penalty you should be OK.

There is not much time to spread your payments since April 15 is almost upon us.

The point of Estimated Tax is to avoid this situation.

Depending on the amount , you can request a 180-day installment payment plan. There will be interest charged.

Thank you for the prompt response.

Is "Pay 2023 Income Tax" correct option?

Pay Towards Your Balance - 2023 Income Tax - Balance Unavailable  - This option is available too to pay.

Will any of the above will go toward my outstanding balance for the 2023 Income Tax?

Will Balance be available  once my 1040 form processed?

Hello,

https://sa.www4.irs.gov/ola/payment_options/make_payment  seems to be easier, just have to select:

Pay 2023 Income Tax

Payment Amount *

https://www.irs.gov/payments  make it bit complicated due to too many options - Reason for Payment

Apply Payment To

Tax Period for Payment

Hope either option will do the same and will pay toward my 2023 Income Tax balance I owe.

Thank you,

PP
