PATH EITC and ACTC 2020 so someone I know has both of these, they’re military, and got their deposit the 4th?! So do us civilians just have to wait??? This doesn’t make sense?!

So I talked to my friend her and her spouse are military, they have the EITC and ACTC.
she filed 1/25 and got accepted 1/27 and got deposit 2/4?????
mom SUPER confused? How did they get it normally ? Is it because they’re military?
if so how is that fair that the IRS is holding all of ours and won’t even process until the 15th?
but giving CERTAIN people their return?????

I certainly can't explain how the IRS does things, but this is what I could find on the IRS website.

WMR on IRS.gov and the IRS2Go app will be updated with projected deposit dates for most early EITC/ACTC refund filers by February 22. So EITC /ACTC filers will not see an update to their refund status for several days after Feb. 15.

It’s certainly frustrating that people who need their refunds most are basically punished and have to wait. I’m behind on everything right now and need this to catch up
