Paper filing $0 return - should I also complete the non-filer portal for my stimulus check?

Hello!

I am a student and the last time I made income was in 2017. I did not file a 2018 return and in March I submitted a paper return that showed a $0 income (for student loan paperwork purposes). In my IRS portal, it shows that this paper return has not been processed yet.

Because I made no income, should I also complete the non-filer form for coronavirus tax relief? I am not sure if the IRS will process my $0 paper return... for what it's worth, I did include my direct deposit information on the form just in case they would file it.

Thanks for your help! This is all a bit confusing

Try the IRS program since the paper copy was not yet processed ... the IRS announced that no paper returns are being processed right now due to offices being closed ...   I cannot imagine the bags of  mail stacking up that is not yet opened.
