I filed my return and USPS tracking shows it was delivered on April 14th, 2021. When I check the status on "Where's My Refund" it doesn't even show that they received it or any information other than to call them. I have called several times and actually got through to a person twice "last time was 4 weeks ago". the reps always spend time and check and then come back and say they have no update for me and they are backed up and to call in again in 30 days. I asked both times if they can simply confirm that they did receive the return and they can't confirm that either.
I understand they are backed up, but alls I want to know is that they in fact do have my return. I would feel a lot better knowing that it didn't get lost or misplaced at the IRS. How or what can I do to find out if they have received my return so I can sleep better at night? This not knowing has driven me to be obsessively compulsive about when my return will get to me as I am in hardship and need my return ASAP. I was asked on both phone calls if I had a hardship and I did tell them "yes" in hopes it would speed up the process. Just knowing if it's sitting somewhere at the IRS waiting to be processed, would relax my anxiety and help me to sleep better. Please help with a recourse answer, and not the usual answers of the IRS is delayed. I know they are delayed... I need to confirm my sensitive personal info isn't lost or got thrown out at the IRS. How do I find that out??
