Our taxes have proved too difficult for us to do, my husband sold stock. we need an accountant. Can we just stop Turbo tax in the middle where we are and not file.

Correct, you can stop and won't be charged. There's nothing else you need to do. To be charged, you must go to the File tab, under step #1 and enter your payment info and submit for charge.
